Don Latarski is known nationally as a gifted performer and composer
through his numerous recordings. He's been playing the
guitar since 1963.
Latarski is also adjunct instructor and head of guitar studies at the
University of Oregon School of Music in Eugene, Oregon. His speciality
at the University is in the areas of blues and jazz.
Latarski has been using Moses graphite guitar necks on a variety of
instruments for many years now. He particularly enjoys the
compression-like characteristics of graphite and the evenness of tone.
"With the graphite necks, it's like having a neck-through-body guitar.
There's that much sustain!"
Latarski uses a baritone neck and two other guitars setup with graphite
necks: a L-5 style archtop and a Tele-style guitar. "I've been recording
with graphite equipped guitars for years and there's nothing like the
feel and shear fullness of tone. I haven't found anything better. And I
don't have to worry about having my necks adjusted every three months
due to changes in temperature and humidity."
